Baby Room - Making Progress

This weekend we made quite a bit of progress on the baby's room.  On Saturday morning I went and purchased all of the supplies I would need for a couple of craft projects I plan to complete for the space.  I put together one of them Saturday afternoon.  I followed this tutorial and made fun decorations for her wall out of scrap fabrics and embroidery hoops.
It's an amazingly cheap project if you are someone who hoards fabric scraps like me.  All I needed to buy were the hoops and they were $1.29-$1.49 depending on the size.  The entire project took me 1 hour from start to finish and that included picking out what fabrics to use and ironing them.  The only modification I made from the tutorial was that I used a hot glue gun instead of Elmer's Glue because I didn't have any.  The glue gun worked just fine.
We purchased lighting and Jeremy has already installed it.  He painted the ceiling yesterday and is currently painting her closet and then the walls.  I'm excited to see what it looks like when he is done!
I also went through all of her clothing and pulled out everything that was newborn and 0-3month size.  I washed the clothes, all of her blankets, towels, bibs, and wash cloths.  It was actually pretty fun to fold that laundry.  The little socks are so adorable.  I definitely had a Liz Lemon moment while going through the socks.
I'm sure I will have more baby room posts this week as things come together.  I hope you had a great holiday weekend!

  2. Love it! I can't wait to see it all on the walls. And, for some reason the baby's laundry is still the only laundry I don't mind doing. The clothes are so tiny and cute!
