Photo stolen from Melissa's blog. That is her in the middle on her wedding day next to me on her left.I have worked for the same wonderful company for 4 years. When I first started there, my cubicle was set up as a big open space shared with one other person. My cubicle mate was Melissa. We became fast friends. I have really enjoyed spending the last four years of life with her at work. I see my work buddies almost as much as I see my husband on a weekly basis so they are obviously very important people in my life. I have enjoyed getting to know her family outside of work, attending her wedding, and visiting her in the hospital after her sweet son Enzo was born.
Two weeks ago she decided to take a big leap of faith and leave her job to be a stay at home mom. I know it was a difficult decision for her and her family to make, but she is so excited to be home with her kids. I'm excited to follow her journey on her blog (and of course in real life, too). She is such a creative person and I can't wait to see all of the fun things she and the kids do now that she has more time at home.
It still seems unreal to me that she isn't at work this week. I'm not sure how long it will take for it to actually sink in that she isn't coming back. I'm going to miss seeing that face and having conversations with her daily, but like I said, I am so excited for her and her new adventure.
Feel free to stop by her cute blog and congratulate her on the big step she is taking.
