1. Having to listen to people plan their Earth Day party. (submitted by Becca).
2. I have no idea how to pump my own gas.*
3. Super white arms, farmer's tans, and chest hair. Sunny weather = guys in tank tops all over the city. I finally gave in and dropped my no tank top rule for Jeremy this year.
*It is illegal to pump your own gas in Oregon. We have gas station attendants. Thanks to Kate for reminding me that this is weird.

I don't know how to pump my own gas either!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you aren't allowed to pump your own gas! That's crazy!!! What's the reasoning behind this? I hate pumping gas, so I might like it there. ;)
ReplyDeleteyes. I can't do the gas pump thing either! I always find a way to finagle myself out of it while visiting other states too:-) a few times I've just sat and sat and sat in the car, waiting for someone, when I finally realize that I'm supposed to be that someone! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHa! A girl at my work told me she's never once pumped her own gas. I was SHOCKED! I've been pumping my own for years and I love just jumping out pumping and going. No awkward small talk, waiting for the attendant, or feeling bad for them standing in the cold. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this :) Especially dropping the no tank top rule!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I love this blog series! Makes me chuckle every time.. Planning earth day parties?? For real? I mean.. don't get me wrong.. I'm all about earth day.. but an earth day party??? WHAT?

I forgot earth day...whoops. Blogger quickly reminded me though. I am surprised people are throwing parties for it. Wow. I love earth and all. Anywho. I didn't pump my own gas until 2 years ago - I was just stubborn and a germ-a-phobe but I quickly learned to let it go. That is crazy that it is illegal there.
ReplyDeletenot having to pump gas might be my favorite part about living here! can you tell me why nobody tips the attendants though? i've always found it very strange.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. You really don't have to pump your own gas? That would be awesome. I seriously hate having to do that, so I would love it. And also, white arms, farmers tans, and tank tops on guys are somewhat normal around here. Or at least the farmer's tan is, sleeve length varies, haha.
ReplyDeleteha, the second one made me laugh. i always forget that you don't pump your gas when you are in oregon. but then i never know, are you supposed to tip them or no??! i'm actually curious :)

Lol to pumping your own gas and guys in tank tops! I never knew about the pumping gas thing! That's kinda nice though, I hate pumping my own gas ;)
ReplyDeleteAHHHH hahaha. I was born & raised in Portland then moved to Washington for college, didn't have my car till junior year and then I had to learn to pump gas. I still am not too good at it and often find myself having to ask for help. I've been out of the state for 5 years. Yes, yes I am ashamed and yes, I blame it on Oregon. Hahaha! Excited I found your blog! :) New followeR!
ReplyDeleteI hate pumping my own gas, so I think a visit to Portland is in order :) That's crazy that it's illegal to do it yourself, though. I wonder why?
