Portlander Problems #6

Oh, just some more problems...
1. Pearl and I got caught in a freak hailstorm with grocery store paper bags again. I had Pearl in one arm and wet paper grocery bags in the other while running through the Trader Joe's parking lot.  Like a true little Oregonian, Pearl slept through the whole thing.
2. I wore shorts the other day. Not necessarily a problem for me, but definitely one for those who had to see me. Whitest legs ever. At least I remembered to shave them.
3. I wanted to take Pearl outside, but it was sunny. I wasn't used to that and I didn't know what to do.  Does she need sunglasses? Do I put sunscreen on her?  Can she use my sunscreen?  Is there baby sunscreen?  I even googled "baby sunscreen."

Click here to see my problems from past weeks.
And if you think Portland sounds totally cool (because it is, even with all of my problems) here is a link to explore why it is so great in PDX.

If you live in the Portland area and want to share some of your own, I would love if you would submit your Portlander Problems to me.  I'm serious you guys, I'm kind of running out of material here...
I will post yours one of these coming weeks.  E-mail me at kiralynnpdx@gmail.com.

  1. I think I'd love to live anywhere but Arizona, however when I read your posts I'm not too sure. Here we have blazing 120 deg heat in the summer. It's awful.

  2. Haha...yes, there's baby sunscreen! Our pediatrician said just to make sure its over 30 spf. We've been dealing with crazy weather here, too....and my new worry is about Holden getting sunburnt! He's already had sunscreen on a few times!

  4. HAHA. You paper bag incident makes me think of that scene in Home Alone when little Kevin is walking home with his groceries and both sacks break. ;)

Its kinda like that Portlandia epsiode when they cover their entire bodies to shield away from the sun cause they never see it ;)

  7. lol your to cute. I dont think our portland sunshine will do any harm. But I guess its always best to be safe than sorry. I never had to worry about this problem with my son. I remember that hail storm. I was driving at the time with my two year old and he was so quiet the entire ride..he kept saying mama, so loud, rain so loud. lol.
Will you be coming to the next meet this Saturday? It will be nice to see you again! Your daughter is precious.

  8. yes! baby sunscreen? what's the verdict? On Sunday we sat outside at our family get-together, in the sunshine. I totally mom failed and forgot a hat/sunglasses/sunscreen/anything for the Bean. I think he might have received his 1st smidge of a tan? oooooops!

  12. Oh dear... I know and would love to know what you found out on your google search! X is SO pale I am worried he'll be burned to a crisp. We do hats, but I don't know if that is enough.
