Portlander Problems #21

The problems this week are brought to you by my love for Burgerville (our fresh, local, and sustainable fast food chain).

Burgerville Problems:
1. I started paying for my Fresh Oregon Raspberry Smoothies with cash this week so my husband couldn't track how many I had.
2. Standing in front of the compost and recycling bins at the restaurant, trying to figure out which items go in which bin.*
3. Getting olive oil stains on my new jeans from their Rosemary Shoestring Potatoes.

If you live in the Portland area and want to share some of your own, I would love if you would submit your Portlander Problems to me.
I will post yours one of these coming weeks.  E-mail me at kiralynnpdx@gmail.com.

*Just so you understand how involved this actually is, I found a photo on Flickr.

  1. Hahahahha the recycling thing is hilarious! Having grown up in Portland I remembers always finding it so ridiculous that when we took our recycling out everything had to be PERFECTLY clean & PERFECTLY separated or they wouldn't take it and would leave a note with everything you did wrong! It's so different from any other city in the US... lol!

    1. They don't do that anymore. The whole system now is really pretty simple, it's just confusing at Burgerville because most of their packaging is compostable, but I just don't want to get it wrong so I have to stand there and look at the pictures to determine exactly what goes in the compost bin and what goes in recycling!

  2. Um...that wasn't nice. I actually thought for a second it was time for the rosemary fries!!! I feel so deflated.

  4. That is hilarious about paying cash for smoothies so Jeremy doesn't know you had one. I do that sometimes too, but it's only ever with food and not clothes or anything else... what does that say about me? lol

  6. I love this post! Especially number 1...good idea, those sound delicious. And they have composting bins at restaurants up there? That is awesome. We can barely count on recycling bins down here in San Diego.
