We spent the last four days at the Oregon Coast. We stayed at a beautiful house with Jeremy's family in Gleneden Beach (just outside of Lincoln City). Pearl had her first experiences with sand and the ocean. We also did a lot of sightseeing, ate good food, went shopping, played board games, and watched movies. It was a great weekend full of fun activities.
The above photos were from our first trip down to the beach. Jeremy helped Pearl get her feet wet. She was not happy about the situation. I don't blame her. The water was cold. The bottom photo is of Jeremy and I trying to mimic Pearl's "beach face." As you can tell from my bangs, it was also very windy which is pretty standard for the Oregon Coast.
We visited Depoe Bay and Newport (two nearby coastal towns) on Friday. Pearl absolutely loved the sea lions in Newport. They were making all kinds of noise and it made her very excited. Also, notice us looking very cool in our sunglasses. I wish I hadn't forgotten Pearl's glasses although she probably wouldn't have kept them on her face anyway.
This is part of the living area in the beach rental. It is a really beautiful house. It kind of makes me wish we had wood paneling, but it mostly makes me want cool stairs and skylights.
An evening walk on the beach. That night I was really thinking about how different the trip felt from the previous year. This year was so much more special because we had Pearl with us. Also, I was uncomfortably huge last year so it was also more enjoyable just to not be pregnant :)
The beach was pretty empty on Sunday so we couldn't find someone to take a group photo for us. My sister-in-law Carolyn managed to place her camera on a rock and set the timer so we could get this photo. I was pretty impressed by the results.
