Celebrating Family

On Saturday we had a combined party for my niece Maleah's 5th birthday and a baby shower for her soon to arrive brother Tucker.  My twin sister Kara and her family live up in Washington and it's a bit of a drive for family and friends so they came down to have the party at my parent's house.  I was a bit worried that Maleah would have a hard time sharing her party, but she did great!
Maleah wanted a fish theme so we just went with it.  My mom came up with a fun fishing game for the kids to play and my sister had great ideas for decorative touches.  Kara spent all week refilling tiny fish and starfish shaped ice cube trays with lemonade to go in the drinks!

My contribution was mostly gift oriented so I wasn't able to be directly involved in party planning.  I made pillowcases and decorative throw pillows for Maleah and Tucker's The Very Hungry Caterpillar themed bedroom.  I also put together some faux Justin Bieber concert tickets for Maleah.  My sister got her tickets to the concert for her birthday, but since she ordered online, all she had was a printed off piece of paper.  She wanted Maleah to open "real tickets" so she knew what they were.

The gift wrap I came up with last minute using yellow tissue paper and a red marker
It was a fun time spent with lots of family and friends!  Pearl enjoyed herself too...
