Portlander Problems #25

The problems today were submitted by Suzannah from Adventures in Dressmaking.  She also lives in PDX and I had the opportunity to finally meet her in person over the weekend.  If you have never been by her blog, definitely check her out!
 1. Thrifting for good vintage is way more challenging in Portland because everyone expects to buy their furniture at Goodwill.
2. I love living by a river, but it's tricky to get across town on the weekend because at least one of the bridges is always closed for construction or a biking event.
3. I went to look at a guy's couch the other day, advertised on Craigslist.  I didn't get it, in part, because it was literally on a bus.  He lived in an old school bus parked in someone's backyard.  How were we supposed to get the couch out? And how did they get it in to begin with?*

If you live in the Portland area and want to share some of your own, I would love if you would submit your Portlander Problems to me.
I will post yours one of these coming weeks.  E-mail me at kiralynnpdx@gmail.com.

*It's also worth noting that this bus apparently had running water, organized clothing crates, and an iBook playing hippie music accentuating the dreamy hippie lighting.

  1. HaHa. The dude lived on a bus?! In someone's backyard? That's odd. :)

  2. This is so funny! My bff lives in Portland and she has almost the same list of problems!!

  3. I would die if I showed up to check out a couch and found out the dude lived on a bus, but I love how he must've not seen anything strange about it since he didn't give any warnings beforehand!

  4. Ohh my gosh, I'm laughing so hard about the last one. So very Portland :o)

I love to hear from you, and will do my best to respond to your comment! Please no spam :)
