Portlander Problems #32

Latest Problems:
1. I have an irrational fear of being stuck on one of the many bridges crossing the Willamette to downtown while they are up to let a boat through.  I have never heard of it actually happening, but yikes...
2. Getting stuck behind a MAX train or the streetcar downtown.  Do they really need to stop that frequently?
3. Voting for a new library funding measure because's the library, I can't not vote for it!  Then later realizing how much in taxes it is going to cost me a year.  Lesson learned...use your head as well as your heart when making voting decisions.  Also, I should really get a library card.

If you live in the Portland area and want to share some of your own, I would love if you would submit your Portlander Problems to me.
I will post yours one of these coming weeks.  E-mail me at

  1. ooh that has always been a fear of mine too being on a bridge and being stuck on it as it is lifting up for boats to pass! also yah that new library tax, great idea i mean who can say no to a new library and then you get the extra tax bill!

  2. I love this series, I have lived all over Portland and it seems like each neighborhood had its own quirks.
On another note I now live in Beaverton, which has its own problems ;)

  3. My Portlander Problem(s) are food carts. There are so many to choose from. I make a round of a pod then try to decide where to eat. I end up getting so overwhelmed by choice that I have to leave because I get too flustered.

I love to hear from you, and will do my best to respond to your comment! Please no spam :)
