Turning 29

I turned 29 last week.
For my birthday, I just wanted to hang out with my family.
I took the kids to the zoo during the day with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law.  It was fun to see Pearl identify the animals and make their sounds.  I really thought the elephants were going to be her favorite.  She did enjoy them, but she was surprisingly most excited by the turtles.
We went out to a delicious dinner and had ice cream at Salt & Straw afterward.  This birthday was great!  It's been a while since I have spent that much time outside of the house in one day and it felt wonderful.  I need to figure out how to do that more often, but it still feels hard with two kids by myself.  I'm sure I will figure it out eventually.
I can't believe this is the last year of my 20's.  I still don't feel like an adult.  Maybe that feeling will magically happen next year at 30.

  1. That sounds like a perfect birthday. Haha... the other day I was talking about you and how when I first met you I was in awe of your adult job and adult house. Haha... I guess we don't really ever feel like adults, huh?

  2. Funfetti would make any birthday complete! And that flatbread thing looks delicious. I'm 30 now and still don't quite feel grown up, but when I talk to people in their early 20s I feel kind of old. Maybe you're a grown up when being out past 10pm sounds tiring.
