My new friends

This weekend I picked up a few new friends.
I got this little owl at Goodwill on Friday.  I'm pretty sure he is a flower pot, but when I got him home and gave him a good scrubbing I realized that someone had been using him as a cookie jar.  He had lots of cookie crumbs and chocolate residue inside of him.
This cow came from Value Village.  I plan to spray paint him some obnoxiously bright color (I'm thinking orange or neon pink).  The eyes are kind of creepy so I'm probably going to paint over them.  He is going to be on the wall in my sewing room.  I think I will hold jewelry around his neck.
Then I got these boot friends at Nordstrom.  I would like to say I bought them second hand too, but it's hard for me to find size 10's at a thrift store.  Dang you big feet, but I love my brand new boots.  The sales guy asked if I wanted to try on the black or the brown pair.  I told him I wasn't sure if the black was me.  His response was, "yeah black combat boots are a lifestyle choice."

I also spent a lot of time looking for craft supplies and thrift store items with Becca and Lauren.  We have grand plans for a crafting day to put our gifts and decorations together.  I've started working on some things already and I spent time on Sunday getting myself organized.
I dub this "Christmas Central."  I'm taking holiday initiative that I have never cared to do before.  I'm not sure how this ended up happening, but I'm feeling pretty good about it.

  3. oh my gosh that owl is so cute Kira, good find! I think you should paint him white! I can't wait til you paint the cow! I saw those boots at Nordstrom and they are so cute! Also, I'm so proud of you for getting into the Christmas spirit this year...maybe your excess enthusiasm will account for Jeremy's lack of...maybe it will even rub off on him! Wait for our craft day, it will be so much better (which reminds me that I need to email you guys to set a day!)

  4. Love it all! Glad you are getting all Christmas-filled inside. I have now read so many accounts of people already having a tree up and decorated, that I am starting to think I should do the same! Sounds like I need to get the tree hunting escapade planned, asap! I know the girls will be up for decorating anytime, it's Mark that I'll have to convince that it's "okay"... haha...why don't men join in the festive spirit?
