My Portlander Problems for the week...
1. Three days of sunny weather, three days of torrential downpours, and today...snow. Welcome to Portland in March.
2. Two days last week of legit sun and temperatures in the 60s means a lot of pasty white legs exposed for the first time this year.
3. I accidentally asked for a "tall" at a cool independent coffee shop instead of a 12oz, effectively outing myself as someone who occasionally goes to Starbucks. Embarrassing.
4. I didn't bring enough re-usable grocery bags to the store yesterday so I ended up with one completely soaked through paper bag by the time I got to my car in the above mentioned torrential downpour. Plastic bags are illegal within city limits in Portland and paper obviously makes the most sense in the rain.

If you live in the Portland area and want to share some of your own, I would love it if you would submit your Portlander Problems. I will post them one of these coming weeks. E-mail me at kiralynnpdx@gmail.com.

Ian and I often expose ourselves as Starbucks drinkers... and it is embarrassing!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha all of these are totally true...love these Kira!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Starbucks...you horrible person, you?! Cuh-razy!
ReplyDeleteFreaking weather. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally get the green thing with the plastic bags but man, those paper bags suck. I have a gazillion cloth bags that are sitting nicely in a drawer never used. :)
so stinkin' funny! i have to admit: i'm hopelessly addicted to starbucks:-) and Peets. I'm just a product of commercialism and consumerism I guess! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh my garsh! i'm sorry but your problems made me laugh.. Are you serious about the plastic bags??? I can't believe that!!!!!!

This is so fun. LOVING your blog!! May have to grab a button while I'm at it!
ReplyDeleteHahaha... I love this. Best series EVER.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Portland outlawed plastic grocery bags! And as far as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with Starbucks :)
ReplyDelete#3 is making me laugh, so,so funny. I must admit I am always embarrassed when I forget my reuseable bags, but plastic ones do make nice liners for my bathroom garbage.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can relate to all of these! I will try and think of a few problems to send to you!
ReplyDeleteLOL, #3 killed me. I'm a Portlander too and mygawd, to use Starbucks lingo when you're not at Starbucks is just so demonizing! Love this series. Gives me a good laugh about this dreary rainy place. :)
