Jeremy and Pearl had their first full day alone together on Friday while I was working. She gave him a hard time at first, but I'm pretty sure she had way more fun with him than on one of our typical days. He took her for a little hike on Powell Butte. He said she stared at the trees the whole time. Based on the photo below, she loved it.
Pearl and I ran errands on Saturday. She had an explosive poop all up her back at Target. That was pretty fantastic. After we were home and in clean clothes again, we headed to a wedding reception for a family friend. He got married in Idaho so they had a Portland reception. Pearl and I wore matching nautical stripes and she slept through the whole thing.
That night we went to a gathering at our friends house to chat about our neighborhood and the importance of place in our lives. Our friends started a non-profit organization called Second Stories which is all about neighborhood transformation. You can read about the organization here. Anyway, most people had a fun time with friends from the neighborhood and from our church. I mostly sat in their guest room dealing with a screaming baby.
On Sunday we walked to church and then had a little Super Bowl gathering at our house. I managed to eat a lot of pound cake dipped in chocolate fondue and not watch any football. So, it was a success.
I hope you all had a great weekend and a fun week ahead!

And...since I have you here...Second Stories is having a benefit concert/art auction on Wednesday night at the Hollywood Theatre. If you live in the Portland area, I would love to see you there!
