One year Kara and I had our hand silhouettes traced and cut out on construction paper. We were supposed to put what made us special on the hand. If you can't read that it says "because I have a twin sister." Kara's says "because I have brown eyes."
Most years my mom would get three of the same or similar Christmas ornaments and have them personalized with our names. This is my wooden Christmas cheerleader bear.
This is me looking cool with my feathered bangs. I'm not sure how my mom kept all of the construction paper ornaments intact for so many years.
These are my favorite. My mom made a whole series of hand embroidered ornaments sometime in the mid 80's. They are some of the oldest ones on the tree and the most colorful. I wish I had taken a photo of all of them. They are so much fun!

ReplyDeleteI believe my cheerleader bear is here, I brought three ornaments from her tree for mine with my name, I couldn't stand the thought of my name not being on their tree.

So sweet! I wish I could say that we have all of our childhood tree ornaments still, but sadly my Dad's second wife decided that she wanted their tree to be her own, so she got rid of all of our ornaments. I managed to save a couple that I had already taken for my own tree (since I was already out of school and had my own place), but it's really sad to think of all the ones we lost. I'm glad you have those to look at every year, it's very special!! Merry Christmas Kira! xoxo
