Button Swap

When I re-designed my blog, I removed most of the stuff cluttering up my sidebar.  I was thinking about trying something new on the blog this month now that I have more space.

I will display the blog button on my sidebar this month for the first four people who e-mail me (kiralynnpdx@gmail.com).  

I would love it if those people would also display my button on theirs as well.

The grab box is located on my sidebar (there are two sizes).

If I have more than four people e-mail me, I will start a list for next month.

If I have less than four people...I will feel pretty lame, but I will get over it :)

A Few Things

 Pearl spent some time attacking daddy over the weekend.

A few new things to mention about this little blog:

1. There are now Pearl related buttons on the sidebar.

Family - These will come in really handy for you. I know you only come here to look at pictures of Pearl.  Now your don't have to sift through other posts.  Just click on Pearl and it will take you to all of the posts about her with the most recent first.

2. A few people have commented or e-mailed to ask where I got certain items from my Baby Style posts.  I will start writing that info within the posts from now on.  Also, I have gone in and updated all past Baby Style posts to have that information.

How to Bake a Potato

 On vacation in the San Juan Islands, October 2010. Not stressed.

I'm not going to lie, I just googled "how to bake a potato."  Apparently there is a website called how to bake a potato.  Very helpful.  I usually bake them in the microwave, ok?

Also, I wanted to say that I have been a very bad blogger lately.  I haven't done any projects, taken photos, or had time to share cool things with you all.  This is one of those really busy times at work that also coincides with a busy time in life so needless to say I have been letting the blog go a bit.  I promise things will get better soon!

Something to look forward to...we are going to do a really awesome giveaway here in a week or two.  The date hasn't been set because the items are currently being created.  So, stay tuned!

New Name

Hi friends,

When I started this blog I decided to use my name as the URL because I couldn't think of anything else.  I had always planned to come up with a title, but that fell way down on my to do list and I just haven't thought much about it until recently.  I really don't like having my name as the title of my blog as I never intended for it to be all about myself.

This has really become a place for me to share about our lives and our home here in Portland.  I have a lot of future plans on improving the content of this blog and I thought a new title would be the best place to start.

This blog is officially called Rain or Shine and the URL will remain the same.  I chose this name because, besides the obvious that it rains a lot in Portland, I want this to be a place where I write honestly about the happy moments in my life (let's call that the shine) and the more rainy moments as well.   I also hope to post DIY projects and fun finds that will brighten up your rainy days, too.

In the next couple of months I will be introducing a weekly series that I am excited about as well as a giveaway or two.  Stay tuned.

New Blog!

Hi friends! So many of you have started blogs lately and I guess it's contagious since I have decided to start one too. I thought it would be fun to have the blog so everyone can see our new house and the progress as it comes along. This is going to be a big project! It's a good thing my husband knows what he is doing. We did a lot of work on our first home and I regret not taking pictures along the way and enjoying the progress. I don't think Jeremy or I enjoyed the process with that house as much as we should have. Currently we are in between homes waiting on a closing date with the new house. Since I have never posted pictures of our last home I thought this would be a good place to start. Take a look at what we (mostly Jeremy) did with the place! I'm excited to see how the next one will turn out!

This blog will not be all about the house updates, but it was my inspiration to start. I'm sure you will end up hearing lots about family, my dogs, crafts, etc. One thing I will not write much about is my job since I feel it is not in my best interest to do that. I can say though that I have a pretty sweet job! Jeremy and I feel very blessed to be where we are in our careers and to have you all as our family and friends. Anyway, check out the old house. I kind of miss it.
